Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use the Bakiif website, Bakiif Kids and the mobile app.

Effective date: 3 November 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bakiif website at bakiifmedia.com, the Bakiif Kids games and the Bakiif mobile app (together, the “Services”), provided by Bakiif (“Bakiif”, “we”, “us”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

The Services

Bakiif is a companion for daily Muslim life. It includes prayer times and a Qibla direction, the Qurʾān with translations and recitations, duʿāʾ and dhikr, articles, learning games for children, a zakat calculator and the ability to donate to charitable causes. The Services are free to use and contain no advertising. We may add, change or remove features from time to time.

Religious content and guidance

We take great care with the Qurʾānic text, translations, hadith references and other religious content, and we draw on established sources. However:

  • Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from your location using standard methods. They can differ from your local masjid’s timetable. Please follow your local masjid or a trusted local authority for the times of prayer, fasting and Eid.
  • Translations convey meaning and are not the Qurʾān itself; the Arabic text is the reference.
  • Articles, the zakat calculator and AI features are for general guidance only. They are not a fatwa or a substitute for advice from a qualified scholar, especially for personal or complex matters such as zakat on business assets or inheritance.
  • AI-generated content can be wrong. Always verify religious information from AI features with reliable sources or a scholar.
  • Hifz AI checks words only, not tajwīd (pronunciation and recitation rules), and speech recognition can mishear. Treat it as a memorisation aid, and confirm your recitation with a teacher.

If you notice an error in any content, please tell us through the contact page so we can correct it.

Acceptable use

Please use the Services respectfully and lawfully. You agree not to:

  • misuse, disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or our systems;
  • scrape, copy or redistribute the Services or their content in bulk, or use them to build a competing product;
  • send spam, abusive or unlawful messages through our forms;
  • use the Services in any way that mocks or disrespects the Qurʾān, the Prophet ﷺ or Islam.

Donations

  • Donations are processed by third-party payment processors (PayPal, Stripe, Paystack and Razorpay) and are subject to their terms.
  • Information about each cause, including its organisation, target and progress, is provided in good faith. Please read it carefully before giving.
  • Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If you believe a payment was made in error or without your permission, contact us promptly and we will do our best to help.
  • You are responsible for any taxes, currency-conversion or bank fees that apply to your donation.

Bakiif Kids

Bakiif Kids is made for children aged 3–12 and should be used with the involvement of a parent or guardian. It has no accounts, chat or advertising. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children’s use of the Services.

Intellectual property

The Bakiif name, logo, design, articles and other original content are owned by Bakiif and protected by law. You may share links to our pages and quote short passages with attribution, but you may not copy, republish or sell our content without permission.

The Qurʾānic text, translations, recitations and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used with attribution. The Qurʾān itself belongs to no one — our aim is simply to present it beautifully and accurately.

The Services rely on, and link to, third-party services such as Quran.com, mp3quran.net, map providers and payment processors. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these Terms.

Availability

We work to keep Bakiif running smoothly, but we cannot promise that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may suspend or withdraw any part of the Services, for example for maintenance.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bakiif will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services, including reliance on calculated prayer times or general guidance. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If you continue to use the Services after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
